What Our Clients Are Saying

My brain feels sharp again. Alive with possibilities. I don’t have to go to meetings and talk ad nauseam about my past use. It’s just over. I no longer need marijuana. My brain just won’t allow it. The NAD procedure has created a new person. I am normal once again and it feels amazing. – Cliff H.

Having been a severe alcoholic for years I was initially skeptical. I had tried every program out there and NOBODY ever told me that a simple 10-day IV program of some nutrients could make such a difference. However, I did my due diligence and read others’ success stories and decided to go for it. Amazingly I had no compulsion to drink at the end of the first day. My mind was quiet! No more racing thoughts and negativity. I now have energy and motivation and ZERO cravings. Now after four months, I am completely free from the grips of alcohol in every way. – Alan D.

Benefits of IV Therapy for Alcohol Addiction

For years, people have tried to find safe and reliable ways to combat alcohol addiction. Many years ago, people relied on sanitoriums and retreats to deal with addiction issues. As people became a little more accepting of alcoholism, companies started to open up drug and alcohol rehab centers.

It took a while for rehabs to agree on traditional methods of treating alcohol addiction. Many facilities use medical treatments including lithium to address issues caused by alcohol withdrawal. Other drugs have been utilized to treat alcohol addiction as well. Most facilities focus on addressing the symptoms of alcoholism rather than the root causes.

Today, researchers are discovering that it’s more important than ever to get at the root of the problem rather than just masking the withdrawal symptoms. Otherwise, there is little chance of an alcoholic enjoying long term sobriety. The time has come when we begin to treat the person rather than just the disease.

What is Alcohol Addiction?

It’s important to understand what causes alcohol addiction. There’s no way to effectively treat addiction without knowing what addiction does to the brain and body. When a person consistently drinks alcohol, it actually changes the chemical makeup of the brain.

When this happens, the number of natural neurotransmitters in the brain decreases. This continues until most or all of the neurotransmitters are depleted. The only way for the brain to remain stable is to replace these absent neurotransmitters with the addictive substance. So what happens is, over time, people need more and more alcohol in order to feel “normal.”

After months or years of using alcohol or other addictive substances to maintain the brain, your hormones become very unbalanced. This can cause long-term damage to your body, mind and spirit.

How Does IV Therapy Help with Alcohol Addiction?

One of the reasons alcoholics have such a hard time giving up alcohol is that they have no other way of restoring their neurotransmitters in their brain. The alcohol masks this for so long that when the body doesn’t get its alcohol, you start craving it more and more. If you don’t satisfy these chemical cravings, they can cause physiological symptoms.

When we see alcoholics going through withdrawal on television and in the movies, we witness the brutal side effects of withdrawal from alcohol. Some of the withdrawal symptoms include:

  • Headaches
  • Vomiting
  • Shaky hands
  • Nausea
  • Anxiety
  • Sweating and
  • Insomnia

For people who have been drinking heavily for years, they experience very severe symptoms such as delirium tremors. Most people refer to these as the DTs. DTs can be very painful and uncomfortable. They may even require medical intervention.

IV therapy designed to treat alcohol addiction serves as a way to prevent these cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It is an alternative to traditional methods of alcohol addiction treatment.

How Is Therapy Done?

NAD IV therapy is done as one 8-hour infusion per day for a period of 3-14 days—depending on the condition. Each person receives a thorough evaluation by our medical staff first to determine the exact blend of nutrients. At the beginning of each day, a trained nurse will insert an IV and begin to slowly drip in the NAD mixture. Patients have their own private room where they can comfortably relax for the duration of the IV. Withdrawal signs of addiction go down approximately 70-80% on the first day and continue to decline as the therapy progresses.

Between the fourth and eighth day, patients usually report feeling better, with increased mental clearness. However, it is important to note that patients must complete each infusion process to eliminate the addiction. Just as important, each patient must deal with the psychological triggers of addiction otherwise there is the potential of a return to the addiction.

What Does IV Therapy Do?

Some alcohol treatment facilities have realized how important it is to treat the disease and the patient. What’s the point of offering short-term treatment for a lifelong disease? At Wellness by Design, we realize the importance of long-term recovery and sobriety. We understand the long-term benefits of IV therapy for alcohol addiction.

IV Therapy uses amino acids, vitamins and minerals to address both the causes and symptoms of alcohol addiction. By using intravenous infusion of ample and beneficial nutrients, IV therapy is able to replenish the brain’s desperately lacking neurotransmitters. This helps us radically cut down the time it takes for alcohol cravings to diminish.

IV therapy is also beneficial in reducing the impact and longevity of alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Some of the withdrawal symptoms that IV therapy specifically addresses include:

  • Pain
  • Muscle aches
  • Anxiety
  • Nausea
  • Insomnia
  • Diarrhea and
  • Irritability

IV therapy also works toward replenishing the body’s nutrients. When someone is abusing alcohol, they don’t pay enough attention to things like healthy diet and exercise. An IV infusion of nutrients also helps restore the body’s homeostasis and helps increase the natural production of neurotransmitters. This helps reduce cravings and minimize the effects of withdrawal.

IV Therapy Targets the Causes of Alcohol Abuse

It’s important that we treat not just the physical symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, but also the causes of alcohol addiction. One of the reasons people crave more and more alcohol is to mask the lack of neurotransmitters. The longer you abuse alcohol, the more damage you cause your body.

When young people start drinking so early in their lives, they can cause a lot of danger in a short amount of time. Teenagers and people in their early twenties tend to binge drink. They don’t become alcoholics over years – they can become alcoholics over a period of months.

Thankfully, with young people, it can take less time for us to alter the way the brain functions. It’s easier to undue months or a year of abuse than it is decades of alcohol abuse. If we target the brain in just the right way, we can help the client achieve long-term sobriety.

There is an Alternative to Traditional Methods of Alcohol Abuse Treatment

Thankfully, there are more options when it comes to alcohol abuse now than ever before. If you are looking for an alternative to traditional alcohol addiction treatments, you definitely want to consider IV therapy for alcohol addiction. It’s not enough to treat the addiction – we need to treat the addict.

One of the reasons traditional treatment methods don’t work is that they only focus on short-term recovery. This creates a vicious cycle of treatment – relapse – and additional treatment. This may be profitable for the treatment facility but it does nothing to help serve those suffering from alcohol addiction.

At Wellness by Design, we understand how important it is to provide our clients with the tools for lifelong sobriety. This means we need to help teach our clients how to nourish their minds and bodies in a way that will help cut down on the chances of relapse. Contact our facility today to discuss the benefits of our IV therapy for alcohol addiction today.

Addiction Treatment

What if there was a treatment that could completely CURE addiction in even the most highly addicted individuals in just 10-14 days? In addition, what if this treatment could also restore energy, improve brain fog, bring back athletic abilities, reverse anxiety and also completely eliminate depression?

That Holy Grail exists and it is called NAD. It occurs naturally in every cell in your body but unfortunately, drugs, alcohol, stress, medications, chronic illness and age all contribute to a decrease in our NAD stores. As NAD goes down, so does our energy. Cells age and deteriorate, symptoms develop and illnesses are diagnosed.

Compelling research has shown that supplementing with NAD may help slow down the aging process as well as help you withdraw from addictive substances safely, overcome anxiety and depression, handle acute and chronic stress more effectively, and cope better with PTSD.

In fact, clinics across the US are starting to use IV infusions of NAD to help people withdraw from drug and alcohol addiction with minimal symptoms in as little as 10-14 days of treatment. These individuals report feeling calm and content and say they lost their “cravings” after a full course of treatment.

Addiction therapy generally requires between 10-14 consecutive days of NAD therapy. We combine this with amino acids and minerals for full effect. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs after a detailed consultation. (Other conditions such as Parkinson’s, brain fog, overall wellness typically need fewer days such as 3-7 days.)

What is NAD?

NAD--short for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide-- is a coenzyme of Niacin--vitamin B3. It’s a necessary co-factor in every cell for optimal function. Unfortunately, the processes mentioned above---aging, drugs, etc.—all deplete our NAD reserves. As NAD goes down so does our cellular energy. This decrease causes deterioration at the cellular level.

Our IV administration of NAD aims to reverse this process. We administer this anti-aging compound directly into your blood circulation optimizing the potential for absorbing this life enhancing nutrient. Three to fourteen days of consecutive therapy with IV NAD, amino acids, and minerals has been shown to be dramatically effective at stopping addictions, restoring mental acuity, enhancing energy and in short acting as a general tonic.

Addictions

Drugs and alcohol are particularly “good” at reducing NAD levels. Alcohol or any mood-altering drug (prescription or illegal) either mimic, stimulate, or suppress different neurotransmitters. Continued use of these substances can gradually decrease the brain cells’ natural ability to send or receive signals. The nervous system then becomes physically dependent on the substance, continuing to rely on it to maintain feelings of normalcy and to avoid withdrawal. This is the basis of addiction. Now, no matter how much the addict WANTS to stop using his/her drug of choice, the altered neuroreceptors cannot function without the drug thus perpetuating the cycle of addiction.

Restoring NAD levels reverses this process and allows complete and full recovery of the damaged neuroreceptors. NAD also supplies the cofactors for cells to return to full energy status, offering a possible way to undo mitochondrial damage and the resulting chronic illness.

Addiction patients need a full 10 days of IV treatment but occasionally, especially for those coming off benzodiazepines, an additional 3-4 days of treatment is needed.

Anti-Aging, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and overall health

The NAD/amino acid IV formula is also effective for conditions other than addiction. Again, the basic biochemistry is the same: the aging process or medications deplete the body’s store of NAD and deterioration at the cellular level occurs.

One mechanism of action is the effect NAD has on sirtuins. Sirtuin enzymes appear to switch on and off genes that promote aging such as those that cause inflammation, fat synthesis and storage, and blood sugar management issues. Calorie deprivation can also do the same thing, but most people aren’t willing to do that!

The NAD IV protocol for these conditions is usually less time intensive requiring anywhere from 3-7 days of treatment as opposed to 10-14.

Side Effects?

Fortunately, side effects are minimal and pass quickly. The most commonly reported side effect with NAD therapy are flu-like symptoms such as nausea or achiness but this passes quickly.
